Today Bud made a few announcements, one of which was to read an article that does a good job sketching out what XSLT does.. A few years ago I read the O'Reilly "Polar Bear Book" about Information Architecture, which helped me formalize the way I thought websites should be organized. The break down of content and design was my biggest take-away from reading that book. In the Digital Web article, the figure titled "Evolution of the Separation of Content and Design" does a great job of showing the progress since the Polar Bear Book's authoring. Incorporating XSLT as another layer fixes the conceptual flaw of combining structure and data, which can only make implementation more powerful.
